Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

Program outline

Students who are in their 2nd or 3rd year of study can look for placements in Autumn, Spring, and Summer. Students from these law courses cover the following areas:

• Corporate law
• Civil law
• Criminal law
• Property law

Areas of focus for students could include but is not limited to:

• Drafting legal documents
• Policy writing (coronavirus policies)
• Attending court
• Shadowing solicitor/ barrister
• Helping out with client work
• Customer service
• Helping out with casework
• Legal Research on specific topics
• Draft legal memorandum
• Finalize and/or correct drafts
• Creating Powerpoint presentation on research topics for case development
• Legal websites editing
