This experience is designed for learners who are proficient in Android studio, using the Kotlin framework, and are eager to apply their skills in developing mobile applications for Android.


Participants will engage in a focused 60-70 hour project, either creating a complete app or a significant module of an app. The project should involve internet connection and interaction with your database. Other materials students are expected to incorporate are found here.


This hands-on experience allows learners to translate their classroom knowledge into practical solutions, offering industry professionals the chance to see innovative ideas come to life in a short time frame.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables can include the following:


  • Fully functional Android (Kotlin) mobile application or module of mobile app
  • Features will require internet connection and database interaction
  • User interface design and implementation, navigation between features
  • Integration of third-party APIs


Please note that whilst all students will complete this task, the project partner will receive the 3-5 best-graded repositories for their consideration.

  • Development of a simple task management / diary or calendar app
  • Creation of a weather forecasting module using an external API
  • Design and implementation of a fitness tracking feature
  • Building a basic e-commerce app with a shopping cart feature
  • Creation of a social media content scheduling tool
  • Implementation of a news aggregator app
