Shannon Acton, P.Geol., is a professional geologist with over 20 years of experience in the exploration and development of energy resources in Western Canada. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Honors Geology (B.Sc.) at the University of Alberta in 1996, and a Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Structural Geology from the University of Calgary in 1998. Shannon expanded her technical skills by completing a Photography Certificate from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 2005. She is currently enrolled in the EDGE UP 2.0 Product Management program at the University of Calgary Continuing Education (expected completion 2022).

Shannon is actively involved in her local community as the Chair of the Board of Directors of a nonprofit childcare company serving 3 elementary schools in NW Calgary. When she isn’t working or volunteering, you can find Shannon skiing, hiking or mountain biking in the mountains.
