Our team has noticed that our product development and operational processes are not as efficient as they have the potential to be. We want to simplify these processes to make them more “lean” in order to make them less costly and more adaptable to customer feedback at a fast pace. In this project, students will focus on evaluating our operations and identifying internal issues that are causing processes to be too timely or costly. Mapping out operational processes using Business Process Model Notation and notation (BPMN), and evaluating each step and the resources it consumes. Identifying bottlenecks in our operational processes. Researching solutions to each unique problem identified in the mapping process. Creating a proposal with recommendations for improvements and an implementation plan for how we would incorporate the solutions. Creating a second BPMN model of operational processes with the proposed solution(s).

IT Support Enhancement Project

At Ideal Development, we are seeking innovative students to analyze and optimize our IT support workflows, focusing on areas such as ticketing systems, response times, and escalation procedures. The project will involve conducting a gap analysis, proposing improvements, implementing solutions, and tracking performance metrics to enhance overall IT service efficiency and user satisfaction in the workplace.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Identifying areas for improvement based on our diversity audit data. Defining diversity goals and objectives for our company. Considering new diversity and inclusion training initiatives. Recommending ways to communicate diversity and inclusion initiatives to employees. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending a timeline for evaluating our diversity and inclusion strategy.

Awareness Campaign Speaker Invitation

Our organization is passionate about promoting social causes. We ​​want to increase awareness about a particular topic. We would like to work with students to identify potential speakers and sponsors for our awareness campaigns. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with the social cause, our mission and goals. Identifying groups that our campaigns will target. Identifying potential speakers, sponsors and partners who can support our campaign. Drafting emails to invite speakers. Accessibility Testing

Our company advertises thousands of products online. The main problem we are trying to solve is to garner more user feedback on our interface’s accessibility. We would like to collaborate with students to conduct accessibility tests on our website with pre-identified customers. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Conducting background research on disabilities and methods of evaluating accessibility. Reaching out to customers and scheduling interviews. Familiarizing themselves with the test tasks that should be administered. Conducting accessibility tests remotely and following up with customers to thank them for their participation. Analyzing and reporting the metrics / results of the tests. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending website improvements based on findings.

Digital Marketing - Housing Graphics and Media

We are looking to develop a set of social media/creative strategies on our online platform. We have developed a set of marketing strategies, but it has been challenging to implement them. We would like to collaborate with students to review and post content promoting our company. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our target market, products and services. Reviewing marketing content in the form of posts, emails, brochures, etc. Deploying content according to our social media calendar to increase website traffic. Overseeing our channels and keeping them up-to-date. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending search engine optimization (SEO) strategies so our materials are easily accessible.

Housing Policy Implication Study

We are planning to implement a policy, however before we do we would like to understand the expected implications of it within this population. This way, we will be able to mitigate any risks that the policy may pose by making adjustments before it is implemented. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Identifying similar policies that have been implemented in other populations. Comparing our policy to other policies and researching the implications that they have had. Conducting interviews with people in the populations affected by these similar policies. Identifying risks and effects that are created by our policy. Creating recommendations on how we could change or improve our policy to make it as effective as possible.

Data Collection Research Assistant

We are looking to develop a Housing Research lab, in which will seek to evaluate the current state of housing research... This will be mostly literature reviews/reports, rather than primary research being conducted. We would like to collaborate with students to support our interview process by assisting in data collection and verification of results. This will provide us with prepared datasets that are ready for further analysis. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with interview procedures and participating in training activities. Assisting researchers in contacting participants and setting up interviews. Recording, organizing, and storing results according to conventions. Verifying that data is recorded accurately. Cleaning data to ensure consistency and usability. Suggesting new research questions or modifications to improve the interview process.

Website Development

Our company is in the process of developing its website, but we need some support, as we are at limited capacity within our organization, we are looking for some student support, to help us with this!! We hope to update and revamp our existing website to attract more clients at Ideal Development We would like to work with students to develop a new website that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. This can be achieved through common site building tools such as Wix, Webflow, and WordPress. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching different site-building tools and their associated advantages / disadvantages. Conducting a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Building a website, with our assistance in providing the content. Providing training on updating and maintaining the website. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.

Employee Survey Creation

Our company although small has employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We want to understand how we can increase employee satisfaction and team efficiency. To understand employee perspectives, we would like to collaborate with students to create an anonymous survey for our workforce. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching platform options to conduct the survey. Identifying the most suitable survey platform for our company. Conducting research on key topics that should be included in the survey. Recommending multiple-choice and short-answer questions to gauge employee opinions.
