Database Optimization Project
The main goal for this project is to analyze and optimize the performance of the Antarctic Institute of Canada's databases, ensuring data is retrieved and stored efficiently. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Analyzing the existing databases and identifying areas for improvement. - Developing a plan for optimizing the databases. - Implementing the plan and testing the results. - Researching new technologies and techniques to improve the performance of the databases. - Documenting the process and results.
Improving Development of AIC Digital Outreach Platforms
The goal of this project is to improve the user experience and mobile development of the Antarctic Institute of Canada (AIC) website and suite of AIC digital outreach platforms. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Analyzing the existing website and digital outreach platforms. - Developing a plan to improve the UX and mobile development of the website and platforms. - Optimizing the website and platforms for better performance. - Researching other variables that can improve the user experience and mobile development. - Implementing changes to the website and platforms based on the research. - Testing the changes and making improvements based on additional data.

Applicants should be comfortable working with Adobe InDesign and converting files to alternative formats. Additionally, designers will fulfill additional duties to prepare books for publication.
